Characters
Lewis, our 21-year-old protagonist, is a shy young man whose closest friends are his father and his action figure, Geronimo. Preferring the comfort of his imagination, Lewis avoids social interactions and leans on his dad for support. When his father passes away, Lewis must find the courage to step out of his comfort zone, drawing strength and inspiration from Geronimo, his bold and fearless sidekick.
David, in his late 40s, is the nurturing and supportive father of the story. Patient and encouraging, David is dedicated to helping Lewis grow and explore new experiences. Even when Lewis doubts himself, David’s unwavering belief in his son serves as a guiding light, pushing Lewis toward self-discovery.
Julie, also in her late 40s, is the film’s antagonist. She feels constantly oppressed and mistreated, but in reality, she is selfish and manipulative. Julie looks down on people like David who put others first. Instead of supporting Lewis, she’s critical of his imperfections.
Shawn, in his late 20s, is Julie’s new boyfriend who’s floating his way through this story. He plays a crucial role in posing as Lewis when the insurance company inquires about David’s recent death. Though Shawn initially empathizes with Lewis, Julie’s manipulative influence leads him to act out of selfishness, ultimately aligning with her schemes against Lewis.
In his late 40s, Uncle Brad is David’s brother who has chosen a life of isolation in the mountains. Avoiding family gatherings and pushing responsibility on others, Brad has distanced himself from everyone to avoid being a burden, embodying a lone wolf mentality.
Carl, in his mid-30s, is the unpredictable guide Lewis encounters on his journey. Eccentric and unconventional, Carl defies societal norms and lives in his own world of madness. Though seemingly chaotic, Carl’s playful and innocent nature makes him a vital ally for Lewis as they search for Uncle Brad.
Joe, a seasoned professional at Family Line Insurance, is tasked with investigating David’s life insurance claim. Meticulous and thorough, Joe brings a sense of order and scrutiny to the investigation, looking into the unexpected procedures to follow David’s death.
Mr. Li is the traditional and demanding owner of a Chinese restaurant who employs Lewis. Unaware of Lewis’s social struggles, Mr. Li values efficiency and performance, often displaying impatience with Lewis’s difficulties, creating a challenging work environment for the young man.
